Character Resources

Post by Eddum StPaul »

SO certain things have come to my attention lately, with this large event coming up with the Ahadi, people trying to buy expensive things, or find money to buy a lot of money in a short amount of time. There has been a lot of rp going around with people dropping lots of dough, and then I go to look up their resources to find out they are trying to spend way out of their spending range for that month. We went through a great deal of effort to explain each level of resource and give you an idea of what you can spend in that month. Now there is of course some wiggle room from month to month but generally it is assumed that if you haven't stated that you have been saving money out of that "petty cash" that is marked down for extra expenses then you do not have that extra money. There is a couple of reasons for this.

1. we dont know what you are saying you are spending your money on during the tons of Side rp that is happening in private between players, nor are we even going to try.

2. If you haven't specifically talked to a ST about your character setting money aside, and then you're suddenly attempting to spend two or three times the normal amount... "well So And So lives simply" isn't really going to cut it after the fact. That is something that should have been going into a down time or ear marked all a long. Not when you see something shiny and all of a sudden now we have to figure out how your character is coming up with that amount of money.

3. Resources are written in there for a reason, everyone wants to be a millionaire or a billionaire because Money can "Fix" a lot of things, so it makes someone have to think extra hard when they dont have it to get around. It is also a goal a lot of people work towards IC, so when you suddenly decided to drop 6k, 10k, 15k just because your character "lives" simply it sorta flips all those people off that have been working towards resource goals in game. We try to make sure that the same rules apply to everyone.

So this means before your character is throwing masses of money around, walking in with designer clothes, driving around in that expensive car, or rolling in with a crap ton of military grade weaponary you better double check your resources (and your contacts).
